Four Creators You Should Pay Attention To
While I usually write the Executive Report from my thoughts, experiences, or observations, I’d like to highlight several other content creators whose work I enjoy. Hundreds and thousands of talented people are sharing valuable information, but here are four that I’ve read/watched/listened to over the last few years.
Before I dive into the list, we’d like to encourage you to vote for METALCON’s Top Products of 2023. Please consider our newest product, Anodized Aluminum Oxford Shingle in the Roofs category. Anyways, back to it.
I’ll start with an easy one: original writer of the Executive Report and frequent contributor, Todd Miller. I’ve read a lot of Todd’s writing over the years, and the archives section of the Report is a great place to search for articles by topic. However, I’d like to highlight Todd’s long-running series “Sales Talk.” He’s been putting out short videos on LinkedIn off and on for over two years now with all sorts of learned wisdom on sales and salespeople.
Here are three of my favorite videos from Todd:
- How do you set yourself apart from your competition?
- How to gain the confidence of your prospects professionally and with integrity
- How do you sell yourself and your company?
Next up, Chris Duprey was a previous guest on our podcast, Construction Disruption, in episode 94, “Transparency and Buyer-Centric Sales.” Chris is a sales coach and speaker from IMPACT and a big proponent of the idea ‘they ask you answer.’ I highly recommend following him on LinkedIn and checking out “They Ask You Answer” in book form. I think you’ll find his insights on the relationship between buyers and effective salespeople interesting.
Here are three of my favorite thoughts he’s shared recently:
The next person I’d like to highlight is well-known to many, Seth Godin. Seth is a bestselling and prolific author on business, life, and leadership. Every day, he posts a new idea or insight on many different subjects. While not every entry may not be relevant to your life, his backlog of nearly 10,000 entries has a lot to offer.
Here are three of my favorite blog posts from Seth Godin:
And finally, the last creator is someone I’ve only recently discovered. Brian McCauley is a sales trainer and columnist for ProSales. I had the pleasure of meeting Brian for an upcoming episode of Construction Disruption (stay tuned for more!) He writes mainly on practical sales advice and has a lot of field experience to pull from.
Here are three of my favorite articles from Brian in ProSales:
- The Value of Showing Up and Caring
- Can Our Desire to Be Liked Hold Us Back?
- Can Sales Really Be That Simple?
I hope you’ll take the time to check these people out. We can all stand to learn something, and sharing the lessons we learn only makes us all better people and more effective in our efforts.
Thanks for your continued readership of the Executive Report.
